Dragons

Across cultures there has been a consistant image of Dragons in myth and legend. Indead the dragon is firmly embeded in english folklore as an evil serpent eating maidens and guarding treasure. In Chinese culture, the dragon has come to symbolise wealth, wisdom and power. The emperors of China made the dragon a symbol of authority and power. Quetzalcoatl, an Actzac god also had dragon like qualities. Countless cultures with the exception of the Anarctic have told of mythical creatures with serpent like bodies with tails, claws and the abilitly to use fire. How could these ancient people who have no known contact with each other develop a creature that doesnt exist with so similar in depiction. Scientists widely attribute this to the finding of dinosaur fossils by the ancients. The ancients saw dragons as a way of explaining unkown fossils.

But how do we explain the fire breathing capabilities? One theory which we have stumbled upon is that comets or metorites were mistaken for dragons. When they reached earth, some might have caused forests to be burnt also a typical sign that dragons had been in the area. The fires caused by the falling space matter would have given the dragon fire breathing qualities. Also the long body of the comet and various colors of the tail of the asteriod gave shape to the dragon. The burning of the comets tail produces many colors giving rise to the many colored dragons in western mythology.

This article requires further research and evidence, any who might have knowledge of dragons, their habits as well as folklore surrounding it or asteroids or comets and weather this theory is possible, feel free to post a comment.

NYAA

moved to the next level in strength training. now i have to to push up on a hand railing thingie, chin ups, one leg squats, hold body position for one min....
cui made me and mel brush up on our duet until 9.10. super tired. but i think we improved. the cos is going nicely. oh yeah. karen joined us again. i think shes really nice. and she always had this guinnnie smile on her face even when cui is killing her. cui redid the whole team. i think it makes more sense now. i was starting the get seriously bad the last time. ahhhh haven had time to do figures. always doing routine. need to find time!

crazy week at school

This week is so screwed!!!!!!!!!
a whole lot of stupid tests that can b nerve wrecking. but all in all it was a fun week:)
mon-math test( i bet my test paper will be the messiest one kong ever came across haha)
tue-ok nothing really happened
wed- science practical. everyone was basically cheating the whole time. it was fun. when i did the benedicts solution it would change orange for meeeeeeee! haha. Qing yi thought it was green and she did somthing wrong. plus stupid new south whales math. wth kong bee wants us to get 10 distinctions. dun think we will get tat pizza she promised. half the class including me used that time to sssssslllllllleeeeeepppppp. after tat had to rush to sch training. new DSA pple coming in. they are all so pro. ahhh. really embarassing, they all swim faster than me.
thurs-slept though most of the day in sch. was tooo tired. chinese test. see how screwed this week was!!!!! and mrs de kept on going on and on and on. thought she'd never stop. oh and had chin remedial
fri- yayyyy! got to skip class. this must have been the most exciting "action" packed day i ever had. there was a total bitch fight in class. omg never knew my class was caplable of such politics. pple kept going to the "toilet" poor lau lau didnt know what hit him. hahaha. then the skipping class part! showed students from keda around the school. it was quite sucessful. i think. then had eng oral. the topic was fashion. i was like OMG. SHIT. I KNOW NOTHING!!!!!! but it was okay lah. not tat bad. the fun part was prefect duty. me joy and angela did this STOMP thing. showed how bored we were but oh well it was fun disturbing pple. haha. when every one left we had to put the tables/ chairs back. omg i love the prefects and mel too. we were crazy! sliding chairs around the room:D i love u guys!

kays so if u counted there were 4 major tests. my brain is screwed.

shit. realised i havent been spending much time with my primary sch friends. too much prefect duty. sigh. must write letter to Ziying!!!!!!

NYAA synchro

cui killed us the last few days. supp to end at 7.30, we only got up at like 8.30. sigh, the life of a synchro swimmer. i was in a very high emotional state after that. " In sooth i know not why i am so sad" haha. been doing too much lit... but seriously i felt like crying for no reason at all.
started on my new training regime. doing basic strength building. the parents say i look stronger but its ony been what? two days? it must really be a miracle. hope i have enough discipline to carry it through. have to do it twice or at least once a day. my solo has improved alot! yay! its starting to feel okayish. but havent done duet in like a week... team routine is starting to look weird. we r like going up and down the pool, no pool coverage at all. and i am starting to slack off when doing team. not enough energy if i do 100 percent everytime. will just die lah.
alot more things going on but i had to write this for nyaa...

daily swimming post

oh almost forgot bout nyaa.
so i went early did lu shang for solo. got down pat most of my action. needs lots of work though. kim came back and showed us her solo. it was gooooooood. alot of strength and flexibility, essentially what makes a synchro swimmer. i think team is going reall good. much more together now. performance on tue!

MOE exel fest: weird and not so wonderful day

haha. today was the most amusing/interesting/fustrating day in my life so far. so the excel fest was in our school this year.
a day in the life of a spastic swimmer.
1) as a prefect we have to go back for duty while the rest laze around at home.
2) i was appointed a job of ushering the guest of honor to the stage from his seat and back again. that wasnt so bad butttttt.... another person already was doing my job. so all i really had to do was stand there, look good and smile. i kinda figured it was an honor but you have to admit it was very amusing.
3) i was on my feet for 4-5 hrs straight on account of how i thought it would be more appropriate for the older (okay young woman but still older than me) usherer to sit down.
4)having nothing to do i was bored as hell.
5) while i was bored as hell, i noticed two men putting their legs on the chair infront of them in the Khoo audi. well i was furious, but carefully kept my mouth shut. i could just imagine miss heng going up to them and in a stern voice say,"young gentleman, it is not proper to air your feet in public." or something like that.
6) this weird lady kept shooting me looks of disgust whenever i tried to smile at her.
7) they had to do prize giving rehersals like in primary school. the guy reading the names didnt even take note of when the first person fin. he jus rattled off.
8) the only two pple who were nice was the lady in charge(btw she seems to be the only one which was confident, calm and collected, which i thought was really cool) and the person in charge of me. oh and one more guy. the others basically ignored me.
9) being completely ignored by others when i tried to help, i offered to helped the lady in charge of me usher guests in.
10) most of the guest i ushered completely ignored me and i only got one thank you and two smiles.
11) the lady in charge asked me to run down to get the dancers. easy enough. then she asked me to give miss jean chan her no. i was compeltely flusters having no paper with me. i kept repeating it out loud. i must have looked really flustered cause i was afarid i would screw up the nos. mrs chan had the "poor girl" look on her face when she saw me."
12)so i was stuck there until 3plus when my duty was supp to fin at 2.
13) Mrs loh suddenly gave me 5 bags, one was the ministers and gave me very vague instructions before she left in a hurry. thank goodness i found miss kim. she explained to me what to do and even followed me down to the genernal office. that was really nice of her.=]
14) while i was rushing back up, miss neo suddenly stopped me in the corridor and asked me to get five bottled water. and you cant say no to miss neo. luckily lura told me it was in the kitchens or i would have wandered the school.
15) rushing back up, i reported to see if my duty was over. the nice lady in charge said i did a really good job (??????????? i didnt do anything) and i could go.......
16) going back down only to realise the prefect door was locked, the key was not in the office, my bag was inside, and the person who last signed for the key was ranita. it was 3.15
17) so i ran all around the school like a mad woman. and all these teachers kept asking me for directions. i could mange those with the room name but most had numbers. hardly got a thank you.
18)finally at 4.05 i spotted ranita at the door.
19) miss leong had supposedly been in the lobby with the key all along!!!!ahhhhhhhhh!
20) i caught a taxi but was stuck in a jam, besides i would haveto go home and immediately run out again. so i went straight to farrer park asking my mom to bring me my swim stuff.

and that was the 20 interesting/fustrating things that happened to me today.

yo. as i said life is hectic. up coming Asian Age Group and right now in the midst of School National with a performance after. Just realised that i havent been doing anything for my nyaa. so i had better start recording what goes on in training from now on for future reference. hahah. i feel lame.
okay. so most of today we did team while only half an hour for our performance tomorrow. like wth!? so weird. its still messy but at least its starting to take shape. Michelle from strongman is joining us. she okay lah. but takes some time to learn stuff. i know that i should be encrouaging her and helping her but i cant help feeling a tad irritaed from having to repeat stuff over and over again because of her. sigh. over time she will improve i guess.

ahhhhh!scgs got like last for the relay. sux lah. oh well it was expected. hope i can survive tomorrow! yay me!
